Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia > Chiang Mai, Thailand Day 26
Well we have finally arrived in Thailand!!
Early start we got to the airport at about 8am and our plane didn’t leave until 10.40am. We arrived in Chiang Mai and 12.20pm (another 1 hour added to the time difference back home).
We hopped into a Taxi and headed straight to Libra Guest House (Craig’s Recommendation). For 200 Baht about $8 we get quite a decent size room with private bathroom and cold shower. We have one on the ground floor which is good – nice and cool. The guest house has everything – cheap food, free internet, massage, tour office, cooking school – its a one stop shop.
We had lunch at the guest house and chatted to one of the girls about that work there about what to do and where we could go seeing as though this was our third trip here. She mentioned that they were having a celebration at one of the near by temples tonight and it was worth while checking it out, we did and found it very interesting. Everyone was giving offerings to Buddha as well as pouring water with rose petals over the Buddha’s lined up out the front of the temple.
From here we headed to the Night Market, to our old haunts for some food. The place had changed a bit and at the moment is very quiet. Normally walking around the markets is hellish trying to get past all the people and having to deal with all the stall holders hassling you to buy from them but tonight there was none of that…….very quiet!!!
