Pai, Thailand Day 31
Thursday, April 9th, 2009Laid in again till about 10am. Went over the road for brekkie to a cool little place called Good life Cafe. It has swings hanging from poles, the hut is made of bamboo and twisted vines etc a real alternative hang out.
We went for a drive up to one of the waterfalls, kids sliding down the rocks into the water having a great time. We drove around a little more and we are now back at the village. We had dinner at a different place and enjoyed our first Tom Yum soup, it was very good. After dinner we went out for a couple of drinks and ended up in a bar called Park @ Pai a really funky little place. 70’s furniture from armchairs to couches, chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, eclectic bits & bobs sitting around the place to give it a very homely feel.
They had a lady from Holland singing and a guy on acoustic guitar. Her voice and his playing were amazing. She sang songs from Norah Jones……that sort of vibe and a bit of jazz. Lee invited a lone traveller to join us, he was from Germany. The amazing thing was he had even visited Tassie on his trip to OZ….I got a real shock as most people you ask so they didn’t get down to the Apple Isle. We got home about 1.30am
