Pai, Thailand Day 30
Wednesday, April 8th, 2009Woke about 9am, what a sleep! I think we both needed it, also the bed was so comfy so that may have had something to do with it. Our bed at Libra House was like concrete and so were the pillows so to have a comfy bed was a luxury.
We walked across the road and had an awesome breakfast at the Witchin Well. Pai is said to be the foodies capital of Thailand, you can get everything here from Thai, French, Mediterranean etc even fresh baked baguettes and desserts like English Trifle!!! The Witchin Well is being run by and Englishman named Mark and his Thai partner – he has worked as a chef in Hong Kong. They came to Pai for a visit last year and ended up managing/owning the cafe (seems to happen quite a bit in this part of the world). Our breakfast was an omelette stuffed with potato, onion and mushroom in a mild cream curry sauce with a tomato and onion salad dressed in Balsamic on the side…..delicious.
We have just been for a walk around the town and are now back in our hut chilling out reading etc. What a life!!
After our little chill out session we walked around town trying to find somewhere to eat, we ended up at the same place as last night. After dinner we came back to our little village bar and had a drink and met a couple from Greece. Petros and Liz have been together for 10 years but only just got engaged on Phi Phi in the last week. They were a great couple to chat with, we parted company at about 12.30pm
