Lee n Tan

What a day we missed the 10.30am ferry – couldn’t have even caught it if we had known about it as Lee’s butt is still not right – but it actually left at about 8.30am!! We were told there might be another one around 11.30am so we stayed on the jetty, we ended up spending the rest of the day there!!! The next ferry didn’t depart until 4.30pm but that actually didn’t end up leaving until 5.30am …….. Island Time!!!

O’Mars was all locked up when we arrived back in Mersing so we stayed in a Hotel. Treated ourselves a little & had air-con which was nice – a reprieve for my body from biting insects.

3rd Wedding Anniversary!! After brekkie we snorkelled around the little island off the point. It wasn’t very good, we had an on shore wind which has brought all the crap into the bay. We were snorkelling with a film of grit on the top of the water and in some places it was very thick, not very nice at all. To top it off we have a very low tide.

We are now sitting up on our deck whiling away the hours listening to some tunes. Lee went for supplies about 4pm and came back with fried rice, Pringles, coke & ice for the bottle of bourbon he bought at the duty free on our round island tour.

We are the only guests in our group of 5 huts on the hill so the last couple of days have been great for chilling out on the deck, the island is very quiet.  Our family that looks after the resort have a very sick father so they are all on the mainland and the restaurant has been shut now since Sunday arvo which has been a pain but understandable. Jimmy (our 4RM beer man) had been running the show.

We ended up having the same dinner as last night because it was sooo good and Lee still hasn’t come right.

Lee’s Birthday & he is still not feeling well! I dosed him up last night on some of our travellers diahoera (TD) drugs but as yet have not seen and improvement. I have another issue, I have about 60+ bites over my legs & arms – they are me crazy!! What a birthday!

The weather turned on us after lunch so we hit the slow internet for a couple of hours. Lee had a some roti for lunch and is still faring well!!

When we came out the sun was shinning so we went for a swim then had dinner at Salang Dream Restaurant (we had eaten here a few times already there are not that many places to eat on the island about 4 main ones). Half a roasted chicken each with BBQ potato & vegies 18RM – what a bargain. To top it off gravy on the side just like mum makes – beautiful – best meal for a while. A great one for Lee’s birthday!!

Lee is still not feeling the best but we went & had brekkie then walked up through the abandoned Resort on the hill.

It was amazing the place never made it to opening. The Prince built it then before it was fully finished there was a problem with the plumbing so they just walked away!!! All the rooms where lined with plaster, windows in place, bathrooms near complete with hot water heaters and some rooms even had furniture that had never been unwrapped!! Very creepy.

We had to cut our little exploration short as Lee stomach started to play up! We spent the rest of the day either on the beach or in the hut.

We go from our hottest day to an average one, a few showers here & there. ‘The Swedes’ leave tomorrow for KL then Thailand.

We had Roti’s (Indian Flat Bread) for breakfast and now we are sitting in our restaurant reading & chilling out.

Very lazy day, Lee read just about a whole book and now he has a headache. We went for dinner with ‘The Swedes’ to say goodbye. Lee still not feeling to well so didn’t each much!!
